Company: The Joyineering Fund
Title: Founder
Age: 15

Ode to Joy At 15, Lilliana Libecki is the youngest ever honoree on our 40 Under 40 list. But girl is she qualified. At a very young age, she was exposed to a unique life of travel, arts and adventure with her father, National Geographic Explorer Mike Libecki. So the young Libecki took that exposure and found her passion: humanitarian work. Today, she has been to 25 countries, led six major humanitarian expeditions, and started her own 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, The Joyineering Fund, which brings solar energy, new computers, internet, water purification, shoes, socks and more to remote areas of places like Africa, Nepal, Peru and India.

Childhood Vision “I used to want to be a veterinarian, but now I am striving to be a photographer, humanitarian and a neuropsychologist.”

Growing Up “I was curious, calm and adventurous.”

School of Thought “I’m still a student and am going into 10th grade. I have gotten straight As my entire life because it is one of the things I must do to allow me to go on the type of expeditions I do. Hard work, team work, equals dream work!”

Eye On The Prize “I am proud of the joy my team and I have brought to people’s lives in third world countries. I also focus on local homeless communities and animal sanctuary/community support. It is an amazing opportunity; I cannot believe our non-profit is helping so many people.”

Clearing The Mind “It always helps to curl up in bed with a favorite TV show, my cats next to me, and some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream.”

Out Of Sight! “I went skiing down to penguins in Antarctica and jumped into the Antarctic Ocean when I was 11! I also climbed Mt Kilimanjaro at 12 years old.”

Ultimate Vision “To inspire others around the world to get out and make a difference on our planet.”
