Eat more free: Details for Cow Appreciation Day and Slurpee Day

Two annual free food events are giving everyone a something to look forward to this week.

On Tuesday, the annual Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A moooves into town. Costumers who dress up in any sort of cow apparel — which means anything from a homemade shirt to a full-out cow costume — receives a free entrée. This is the 14th year Chick-fil-A has hosted Cow Appreciation Day. The Cow Appreciation Day lasts from open until 7 p.m. Learn more about Cow Appreciation Day at chickfila.com.

Then on Wednesday, July 11, 7-Eleven is giving out free small Slurpees while supplies last for Slurpee Day. The company estimates it gives out about 9 million Slurpees each year on its birthday.

But 7-Eleven’s celebration doesn’t end on July 11. The convenience store extends its 91st birthday celebration with Slurpee Week and its “7 Deals in 7 Days” promotion that run Thursday through July 18. During Slurpee Week, the company will post a coupon on its smartphone app each day.
