Say goodbye to October — November is taking center stage. Luckily, Utah Valley still has a variety of weekend events as the county prepares for the next holiday. Don’t let sweater weather keep you indoors this week, especially with these events going on around town.

Dia de los Muertos

Celebrate family and life with the annual Dia de los Muertos celebration at the Shops at Riverwoods. This family-friendly event will have music and cultural performances, community altars, kids activities, market and local shop giveaways.

“The Mousetrap”

When a snowstorm traps a group of strangers in a local bed and breakfast, they are horrified to learn there is a murderer in their midst. This play by the Agatha Christie, the queen of murder mystery novels, will take you on twists and turns as the tenants unfold the details of the murder.

When: Nov. 2–3 at 7:30 p.m.

Catrin and Catrinas Celebration 

Vivid colors are coming to University Place this weekend for a Dia de los Muertos celebration. Enjoy a parade, entertainment, food vendors, face painters, free kid activities, costume contest and Catrin and Carina. This Day of the Dead celebration will provide your family a cultural experience.

“Anything Goes”

Taking to a ship departed from New York and sailing on to England, a comical cast of characters get into mischief and find love. This musical takes you back to tap dancing and good clean humor.

When: Oct. 5 – Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday matinee at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Pumpkin Smash

The law of gravity will be tested this weekend at Cornbelly’s. Bring your own pumpkin or simply watch Cornbelly’s drop and smash the leftover pumpkins from the season. Besides the ooey-gooey pumpkin smash, the regular Cornbelly’s festivities will still be going on. See a schedule of events here.
