Sure, Devin Bunnell is a state record-holder in the pool … and the choir president … and an ultimate Frisbee champion, but he might be most recognized as the school’s mascot — complete with Viking shield he made himself.

Mini-resume Spirit secretary on student council, school mascot, choir president. 3.99 GPA. 2018 Utah swimmer of the year, eight school swimming records and three state.

Plans after high school Church mission. Attend Utah State University.

Advice for future self Remember to always choose the hard right over the easy wrong — always.

High school happiness Dating! This was my way of having fun and getting to know people. I loved going on simple but fun dates with different people. Brethren, girls are still scary, but ask them out and you’ll have a great time.

Guilty pleasure Chick-fil-A biscuits. I would treat myself to a few of these several times a week after morning swim practice.

Most common thing parents say to you You’re still eating?

Best high school memory Spirit Bowl 2018. I had a major role in the victory of the junior class — becoming the first class to ever beat the seniors.

Biggest pressure Living up to the family legacy. Both of my older siblings were exceptional leaders, students and athletes.

Devin, how will you change the world? By being me. No one can do better than being their genuine self.
