CAREER ANTHEM “Without Me” by Eminem

LINER NOTES Christian Brinton is green with hard work and good luck. He attended USU where he was kind of a big deal (our words, not his). He participated in sports, student government and was named Mr. USU — twice. After graduation, he worked as an operations manager for a tech startup. He joined Provo Beach while earning his master’s in youth and family recreation from BYU. His research on youth sports psychology was published in an academic journal that led to his thesis being widely read and downloaded in 59 countries. And today? Brinton is leading the team and surfing up community fun at Provo Beach. Luckiest lad in town.

FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE “Anything from John Denver to Metallica to Rascal Flatts.”

CAREER HIGH NOTE “Right now at Provo Beach. We have awesome employees who are doing their best to help our guests have fun, de-stress and strengthen relationships. I work with incredible people and have a high level of autonomy. What could be better?”

CAREER LOW NOTE “Any time I find out we have failed a guest.”

BEATING TO MY OWN DRUM “I have created a character called the Luck Meister. I dress up every St. Patrick’s Day and make secret visits to friends and family. I do my own rendition of the Irish jig and deliver chocolate gold coins.”

MY FORTE “Caring about people. I am not perfect at it, but I strive to put people first.”

DREAM RECORD “I’ve always wanted to create programs for troubled youth and youth leadership. But as long as I end my career knowing I have made a positive difference in the world, I am open to the flow of life.”
