LINER NOTES “If she can see it, she can be it!” That motto inspires Tanei Atagi Henry daily as the founder of Provo Girls Summit. Henry is a former child educator (she taught English at Timpview High School and was named Outstanding Educator in the district in 2011), which taught her that to create empowered women starts in childhood. Today, she’s doing just that by connecting young girls with accomplished role models in unique professions. What’s more, in 2018 she started Introducing Tomorrow, which is a nonprofit that hosts Provo Girls Summit and other educational endeavors.

FAVORITE LYRIC “If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make the change.” — “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson

CAREER HIGH NOTE “During Provo Girls Summit, I get to stand in front of hundreds of bright-eyed girls, in a space created specifically for them, and tell them, ‘We see you. We see that you are full of possibilities!’”

BEATING TO MY OWN DRUM “I’ve got four kids and my husband runs his own business while I run mine. I am most likely off rhythm and stepping on someone’s toes, but I’m on the move and occasionally I’ll hit on a beat.”

MY FORTE “Training to be a teacher required goal-oriented planning. Shifting from planning a lesson for 30-35 students to planning an event for 400+ people came naturally.”

DREAM RECORD “These 8- to 12-year-old girls are my focus right now. My son is requesting a Provo Boys Summit, so that could be in the works. I only want to work on projects I’m passionate about.”
