Nico Niccoli didn’t choose the food life. The food life chose him.
He is the son of a restaurateur and the youngest of five boys. He grew up in a kitchen, and his family life revolved around good food. (See also: His strong Italian heritage.)
“I love that food always brings people together,” Niccoli says.
Today, he is bringing together family, friends and flavor. Niccoli is a partner in 53 Catering, a company that owns and operates a full-service catering company, four different brands, and seven restaurants including Good Thyme Eatery, Roll With It Creamery, Marley’s Gourmet Sliders, and La Jolla Groves in the Shops at Riverwoods.
His restaurants, by the by, are cooking up serious growth: In BusinessQ’s 2019 UV50, 53 Catering ranked No. 18 among the valley’s Fastest-Growing Companies.
Even more delicious? Entrepreneurism runs in the family. Niccoli is married to Kortni Jeane, founder of Kortni Jeane Swimwear, and they have a 1-year-old son, Vinni, who will surely grow up with a promising palate of his own.
After all … like father, like son.
