Brigham Reid — 2020 High Schoolers Who Will Change The World

Brigham Reid

Orem High School

Parents Doug & Teri Reid

Brigham put himself out there at the end of his junior year and ran for student body president. He lost. It stung. But he picked himself up and found other ways to give back. He served as the academics representative, played varsity golf and was a captain of his club volleyball team. Not a bad Plan-B.

Future plans Serve a mission. Attend college. Start a family.

Motto Don’t worry about the things you can’t control.

Guilty pleasure Watching sports highlight videos.

Lessons learned I put myself far out of my comfort zone to run for student body president. It really stretched me. Also, not winning actually opened up some cool, different opportunities for me.

Parental phrase “Be great because you are!”

Change the world Treat everyone with kindness. It doesn’t take much for us to show someone they’re special, so just by reaching out and doing the simple things I can make a difference.

High school memories Playing in state for golf my junior and senior year, and watching our football team take state three years in a row.

School spirit The teachers at Orem are the best! I love talking to all of them.

Best advice “You’ll never regret trying something as much as you would regret not trying.”

Stress management I do something active, and I make lists of what I need to get done.

Baby brother I am the youngest of six kids. I love my family, and they are my greatest support!

Favorite subject History. I love discovering why things are the way they are. I also really enjoy watching documentaries.
