Parents Dawn & Dave Draper
Ramsey exemplifies “a rising tide raises all ships.” She works hard to give people in her life a high tide to navigate storms. She is a leader who lifts and a positive force forged from life’s storms.
Future plans Serve a mission, Utah State, then medical school.
Guilty pleasure Chocolate milk and country music.
Lesson from challenge My dad passed away when I was 4. When I reach milestones, it kills me to know he can’t be there. His passing taught me to love deeply and to give them the best of me.
Parental phrase My mom always reminds me, “We can’t always choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we react to it.”
Change the world I want to become a pediatric cardiologist, but that is not my end goal. Last summer, I traveled to Colombia to build a school. I fell in love with the people and their humility. I want to establish my own humanitarian organization and visit those in need of medical care. This is where I will be happiest.
School spirit At Spanish Fork, we have cultivated a culture of closeness and caring that I don’t think can be found anywhere else.
Advice Before I decided to run for student body president, my uncle told me, “Do not undermine yourself. It is unfair for you to deprive yourself of opportunities that should be yours.”
Stress management Go on a run to both exercise and to clear my mind. My mom and I are close, so talking with her helps, as well.
Favorite subject I love medical anatomy because I think the human body is immensely interesting.
