How did My Sister’s Closet start?
In April we hit 11 years of being open. My initial desire was to have a little shop where women could have the best experience while finding great deals on clothing and accessories. Now we have storefronts in Spanish Fork and Draper, and our warehouse in Spanish Fork manages inventory. Our Spanish Fork store is unique with a very popular consignment section along with fast-moving new boutique items. We have weekly new arrivals, so things stay new and fresh.
What are this year’s fashion trends?
The colors right now are richer than the last few summers, which makes transitioning between seasons super easy. All shades of rust and green, as well as lighter earthy tones are showing up everywhere. Also, don’t be surprised if you see a dollop of bright pink. We are here for all of it at MSC! Statement pants like Mom jeans and looser fit bottoms are trending. We still want comfort clothes coming out of our pandemic lifestyle, but with the hope of returning to normal we want our clothes to make a fashion statement. You will still see a lot of rouching on dresses and flattering tops. Easy to wear cute everyday tops will always be in. We are so excited to have hard-to-find bermuda shorts coming this spring. We specialize in modest styles at MSC, and the plethora of midi dresses and skirts right now are making shopping a delight!
Why do you think you were voted as one of the best boutiques in Utah Valley?
Because of our amazing customers! From the beginning they have supported us through our growing pains. When we first opened, we were growing so fast it was tricky to hold on and learn new things fast enough. I was trying to stick to our budget, so I was the photographer, editor, etc. I can’t believe people were buying our clothes with such funny pictures! Even during this unique last year with Covid, customers have shown up for us and transitioned with us as we have pivoted. What women were looking for changed (fewer places to dress up!) and we did our best to adapt. At MSC, we believe you can have it all as you shop — on trend items and basics, great deals and the best customer care.
