He shoots. He scores. Dave Lainhart has always been a top competitor. When he played college basketball, he was recognized as a collegiate Academic All-American and the runner-up for National Scholar Athlete of the Year. On the business side of life, the swishes kept coming. At BYU-Idaho, he received the Newell K. Whitney Award from the College of Business & Communication. Post-college, Lainhart went on to lead sales teams, dominate goals, and make his mark at Edge, a fast-growing pest control company winning its industry.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT Opening up a brand new market with my partners without any outside funding or investment. Then, quickly making it profitable and knowing the risk I had taken to quit my corporate job was 100% worth it and that it would provide my family with security and generational wealth. LEADERSHIP STYLE I strive every day to be a principle-based leader. WOULDA-COULDA-SHOULDA In the early days, I wish we would have been able to stop and think of the “why” before jumping in and figuring out the “what” or the “how.” MAIN MOTIVATION First, the ability to provide for my family. They are my everything. Second, the ability to help others provide for their families. I get goosebumps thinking about all the families I can help throughout my career. That is true fulfillment. ULTIMATE CAREER DREAM I know this may sound cliche, but I am living it right now. I love what I do. I love the people I work with and the constant challenges I am faced with. I wouldn’t change what I do for anything … except maybe being a professional basketball player. But that dream died a long time ago!
