One of Utah’s top fashion designers came from Italy to the United States with only $300. Now Tommaso creates products for major retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Kenneth Cole, Costco, Target and more. The most recent feather in his custom cap is having his designs made in the same factories as luxury brands such as Gucci, Burberry and Dior. Gracious Tommaso also meets with local performers, speakers, CEOs and university presidents to create custom fashion designs. The other “fabric” of Tommaso’s life is his family. His wife, Ann, and their three remarkable children are his greatest accomplishment.

Game of Life I get up at 5 every day! I start my day with a prayer of gratitude. I go to the gym, and then I take care of our historic home that is my showroom in downtown Provo. I also manage our Airbnb. Then I start my day talking to my employees in Italy. I meet with clients to create beautiful clothes —from wedding gowns to custom suits and Italian leather shoes. I make new dinner recipes a few nights a week. I write in my gratitude journal and go to bed around 11 p.m.

Life Hack A great custom-fit suit is energizing!

Hungry Hippos I love TASTE in Provo! I always order Croque Mousier. I love their five-course sit-down dinner and afternoon tea.

Twister When I was 19 living in Italy, I met missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I never thought to change religions, but after a sincere prayer I got a specific answer to join the faith. That answer was an exciting surprise!

Draw Four Sometimes people don’t understand my Italian accent or idioms.

Catchphrase “Carpe Vitam,” which means “Seize life!”

Game On The game SCOPA brings back memories of family times growing up in Italy. It is fun to share this card game that is part of my cultural heritage.
