Mo’Bettahs Hawaiian Style | Director of Operations
Lehi | AGE 32
John Konyn deserves all the shakas. He’s been with Mo’Bettahs for more than 11 years, and he’s learned every aspect and role of the restaurant operation. Assistant manager. General manager. District manager. Director of Operations. He’s done it all. What’s more, he’s overseen their out-of-this-world growth. In his time at Mo’Bettahs, they’ve grown from two restaurants to 30. The Mo’ the merrier.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT Being able to have the Mo’ Bettahs brand become so strong here in Utah that we have opened locations in new markets outside of Utah. Our team works so hard, and getting to celebrate those milestones with them is one of the best parts of what I get to do. HARDEST MOMENT The world after Covid has provided some of the most unique challenges most of us have faced in our careers. The positive side is that it is forcing businesses and leaders to adapt quicker than ever. The innovation being created is setting up a better future for all. LEADERSHIP STYLE I prefer to be a mentor and a coach. BEST PART OF BEING YOUNG IN BUSINESS To learn from so many amazing leaders — and getting to share all you have learned with the new generation of leaders. MAIN MOTIVATION Creating opportunities for others. Every new store we open brings new members to our team and allows us to provide opportunities to the hardworking individuals who make up Mo’Bettahs. It’s what I’m passionate about. ULTIMATE CAREER DREAM To mentor future leaders of our industry. I have been fortunate enough to have a number of mentors who have coached and guided me through my career. My goal is to pay that forward.
